April 2012 Newsletter

The 2012 Colorado Banquet season has come to a close. I want to thank all the chapters for their outstanding job, dedication and hard work to put these events on. Lots of great success this year and you all deserve credit for a job well done.

We are excited to have our new Farm Bill Biologists on the ground. I met both of them at Kit Carson County PF banquet last Saturday night. I am very impressed with Shannon Bowling out of our Burlington NRCS office and Don Kahl who will be working out of the Lamar NRCS. Next month we will have a report from both of them how things are going.

I encourage everyone to try and attend our 3rd annual Pheasants Forever State Habitat Meeting in Holyoke, CO on April 21st. Dave Nomsen Vice President of Governmental affairs for PF will be in attendance. We also need 20 volunteers for our big Habitat Project on Thursday April 19th and on Friday we will be having our Youth instruction and outreach day with a host of activities.

I hope everyone had a great Easter with family and friends and I hope everyone has a great spring and summer.

Look forward to seeing everyone at the State Meeting.

Yours in Conservation,
Bob Hix
CO Regional Director Pheasants Forever
